Éloge de l’ombre（陰翳礼讃）｜伊勢神宮

「伊勢神宮には年間約1500 回もの祭祀」があるという。
米を供え、塩を整え、山海の幸を日々献上する儀礼。
およそ2000 年の変わらない日々を、
森田恭通は日本の美を紐解くかのように写している。
土に蒔かれた籾や神職の美しい所作に目を向け、建造物の細部を切り取る。
ミニマムな断片を積み重ねることによって、
伊勢神宮に蓄積された時間を浮かび上がらせていく。
「誰もが気付かなかったディテールに私は魅力を感じる」と森田は言う。
連綿と繰り返されてきた“日常”を写す贅沢を噛み締めながら、
日本の美と向き合う時間は、森田にとってライフワークとなった。
誰もいない夜の境内に、白い石の敷き詰められた神域に、森田は何を見るのか。
